Uitslaande brand in loods in Giethoorn, omwonenden geëvacueerd

In een loods in Giethoorn is vanavond brand uitgebroken. De brand werd al snel opgeschaald naar een zeer grote brand. Omwonenden zijn geëvacueerd en iedereen is op afstand gehouden.

Het gaat om een botenloods aan de Beulakerweg. Op het moment dat de brandweer aan kwam, was de brand al uitslaand. De brandweer kon niet voorkomen dat de loods helemaal af is gebrand. Een aantal gasflessen die in de loods stonden is ontploft. De punters die in de loods opgeslagen waren zijn verwoest.

De brand werd groot opgeschaald om meer personeel op de plek van de brand te krijgen, om de omliggende huizen met rieten daken nat te houden en zo te voorkomen dat die in brand zouden vliegen. Dat is uiteindelijk ook gelukt, ondanks dat de grote hoeveelheid zogenoemd vliegvuur.

De brandweer zal waarschijnlijk de hele nacht nog druk zijn met nablussen.
